Affordable Summer Outfits and Beauty Finds

Summer is here and I can barely contain my excitement. Its by far my favorite season, as the winter in Vancouver can get pretty gloomy. I’m always happy to pack up the sweaters and do a wardrobe switch to summery dresses, fun casual outfits, and lighter more comfortable business attire.

This navy dress is the epitome of comfy and casual. I found it by fluke on Amazon and was so happy with my purchase. I love the button accents. Its a flowy cotton fabric that has some stretch and is so comfortable to wear. They many other colors and styles, so I’d love to pick up another one. Click on the photo below to go directly to the link! p.s. I’m wearing a Victoria Emerson boho cuff bracelet too and I’m obsessed. Stacked bracelets with a magnetic clamp, so you can put it on easily with one hand. So many cute styles on their website too.

Next up for a cute casual look is this ruffle trimmed striped top. Its a light cotton and the perfect length. You can tuck it in, or leave it un-tucked. At under $35.00, its a great addition to any summer wardrobe. I’ve worn it with blue jeans, white jeans, and with lighter dress pants for work.

If you haven’t checked out Garage for jeans, I love them and they fit so well! I like the high-waisted styles, and all their jeans have a lot of stretch (who doesn’t love that?!). Bonus is that they quite often have a BOGO buy 1, get one half off deal.

For our recent trip to Mexico, I picked up this white lace dress and its the perfect elegant summer dress. Would be great to wear to pretty much any summer event. This dress also comes in a few different colors too.

This yellow wrap dress has been my favorite flirty summer dress. I purchased it last year from H&M and love it. Perfect for a date night, wine touring or a casual summer wedding. It looks like they don’t have the exact same dress online, but check your local store. I linked a dress that looks similar below.

I’m always on the lookout for a pair of affordable and trendy sunglasses. Last year, the Quay Australia high key black fade sunglasses were my top pick (still love them). But this year, these Gucci dupes are SO CUTE and with an amazing price tag (under $20!).

But if you’re looking for a splurge, I also love the Marc Jacob aviators I’m wearing with the ruffle striped top above, and below. They are from Smart Buy Glasses, which have a ton of designer styles at a really competitive price. Here’s the link to the Marc Jacobs glasses.

The Gucci dupes and Quay ones are linked below.

Now for a few work outfits. You may or may not know that I wear more business attire than casual or yoga wear. I work in sales, so I’m on my feet a lot. Comfort is important, as I cannot wear high heels very often, so I’m always on the lookout for cute flats.

This white willow blouse is so light, comfortable and flowy and goes with so many things. Its also under $25! I also have dark green pants in an identical style to what I’m wearing here, and this top pairs great with them too. Dynamite is my go-to for work clothes, so I’ve linked them all below.

The flat mules are a micro suede material, and I just picked them up at my local Walmart. Unfortunately I cannot find the link for them online. I’m in Canada, so check your local store. The mules are under $24!

This color block cami is everything! I love the pattern and colors, and how you can easily pair it with a jacket or sweater if you have to deal with office air conditioning! This cami is a steal at $18. So affordable, and the fabric feels like it should be so much more expensive. These draw string pants are similar to the pants above, and I adore them! So comfortable and they wash amazing! I throw them in the wash and dryer and no ironing required! Must have dress pants for under $50.

Here’s a better look of the pants, and also the adorable mules I picked up to go with them. The mules are stretchy and I love the texture and feel of them. They are totally a Sam Edelman Clara dupe! Wore them for a full workday right after getting them and they did not hurt my feet one bit! Under $40 as well.

So this blouse. Love it. So classic. It seriously goes with everything. Pants, dress shorts, pencil skirts and everything in between. There are numerous colors and such a great summer basic. Paired with the same mules from Walmart and a pencil skirt from last summer season at Suzy Shier (which unfortunately wasn’t re-stocked this year).

Last but not least, here are some of my favorite beauty and makeup items for summer. I’ve included some of my favorite drug store items and a couple of splurges. I special mention to the Probelle nickle foot file. For pretty feet this summer, it works amazingly well. Better than any pumice stone or foot product I’ve used before.

If you follow along on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve recently tried the Milani line of lip products and love them. Super afforable too. For a bit more of a spluge, I’m a big fan of Mac lipstick in Faux, and Stila all-day lip color in Perla or Sonota. I also love the NYX Butter Gloss (which I get at my local Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada)

Hope you enjoyed seeing some of my favorite summer things! Depending on what you guys think, I might try and do one of these round up posts each season.

Oh, and I’ll also mention…if any of you are already using the LIKETOKNOW.IT app, I’m going to link everything there on my profile too. It just makes it so much easier to shop.

None of the links work when I click on the images 🙁 I got several “page not found” for the amazon links, and the rest were “site blocked by server” for the blouse and images toward the end. What brands are the items? They look darling though!

Checked all the clothing ones in particular the blouse so those should work if you try again. The plain ones are in stock aside from the green. Thanks so much! Kristine
