This Sweet Sesame Chicken is a healthy and easy chicken recipe. Quick to make on a weeknight, and the leftovers make a great lunch.
Ingredients
  • 16 chicken drumsticks (bone-in, skin removed, my package was 1.84 kg) *could also use chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp sugar-free honey (I used Nature's Hollow) *could also sub for extra honey
  • 2 packets stevia *omit if using all regular honey
  • ¼ cup Braggs all-purpose soy seasoning *could also use lower sodium soy sauce or tamari (for gluten free)
  • 2 Tbsp dried minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Garnish: 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. Mix together all the sauce ingredients in your baking dish (everything except drumsticks and sesame seeds garnish.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees F for 40-50 minutes. Cut in and check near the bone to see if its done. Chicken legs can be tricky. May be done on the outside, but not near the bone.
  4. Make sauce into gravy if desired (instructions above in the photos), or simply garnish with sesame seeds.
