Healthier Traditional Chocolate Chip Cookies

A slightly healthier take on a traditional chocolate chip cookie. Less sugar and the addition of whole grain flour.
Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • ¾ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup spelt flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. Beat together the softened butter, and both sugars until fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, and the vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. In a seperate bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients (flours, baking soda and salt).
  5. Mix the flour gradually into the butter mixture.
  6. Lastly, stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop by a teaspoon on your cookie sheet.
  8. Bake for about 9-10 minutes until just golden around the edges.
