Eden, yes I just mean the smell out of the package. They aren't stinky once cooked, but since they are no cal I don't find them filling...I'd rather just add more veggies to stir fry...more bulk like broccoli, bamboo shoots, water chestnuts etc. :)

Kristine, I know what you mean about the noodles, but how are u cooking them? to get the stink out, I drain with water and then on a hot pan, let all the water evaporate and stir them around in the heat. then they end up a little dryer (so sauce can stick better) and they are stink free!

April, yeah not a big fan of the noodles...kinda stinky! lol! I'd much rather have spaghetti squash!

Eden, great list of staples! I'd love to see your granola from TVP. Glad to hear the tomato basil flavor gets a thumbs up!

O I love those tortillas, the tomato basil flavor is AMAZING! I make flat bread pizzas out of em! I dont use PB2, but I do use peanut flour.
My low carb staples are:
flax seed meal
TVP granules (great for low carb granola)
Coconut butter/flour
almond meal
Spaghetti squash (instead of pasta)
Cauliflower (for fake mashed potatoes)
cottage cheese
eggplant (instead of bread for french toast)

We are very similar! I've been eating carbs in my first 3-4 meals and feel best this way now. And I try to stay away from sugars- they just make me crash!

I love shirataki noodles. A lot of people don't like the taste but I don't mind!

Good to know Heather. Yes, I ordered everything above online...we don't have any of this stuff in stores. If I do find it locally, its very rare. On the PB2 site, there is a US store locator...maybe that would help ya!

http://www.bellplantation.com/products/locator

Cool, thanks for sharing. I love Le Tortilla Factory tortillas when I can find them. For some reason it's hit or miss around here. I still have not come across the PB powder. Do you order it?
