Slow Cooker Low Carb Cabbage Roll Stew

I came up with this recipe because I LOVE cabbage rolls! Tastes like a cabbage roll in every bite! I also love that its low carb!


Makes 6 servings

1 pound extra lean ground beef (I actually used ground moose)
1 medium onion, chopped
1 14oz can stewed tomatoes
1 14oz can lower sodium tomato sauce
1 Tbsp minced garlic
1 Tbsp worchestershire sauce
1 cup chicken broth or beef broth–lower sodium
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp hot chili pepper
1/2 head cabbage, chopped

In a medium pot, heat oil and brown beef & onions. Place all other ingredients in crockpot (except cabbage) and mix well. Add beef mixture, then cabbage. Cook on LOW for 5-6 hours.

      Yes, crushed tomatoes should work great as well!

    This looks so good! Do you combine the sauce, meat and cabbage or should it be in layers?

      Doesn’t matter, you can do it either way, but usually I just mix it together.
