Hope you’re all having a great long weekend! Its been a few weeks since my last pregnancy update, and I know many of you enjoy seeing all the progress pictures.
Even though the weather has been crummy in my neck of the woods lately, its always nice when the weather isn’t scorching when you’re preggo. We have air conditioning where we’re at now, but not like we’ve needed it anyway. But now that we’re into July, the warm weather is probably coming, so I’ll have to be extra conscious of not over exerting myself outside and getting plenty of water.
I’m so happy to be past the 30 week point now, its starting to feel like I’m getting close, especially considering I had Sienna at 37.5 weeks!
30 weeks
Compared to 27 weeks
What’s changed in the last few weeks?
– I’m definitely feeling a lot bigger now (in fact, I feel a lot bigger than I look)
– My SPD is still acting up like crazy, so much that I can barely walk after doing simple things like cleaning house and grocery shopping
– Still going to the chiropractor 2 times a week, and doing massage therapy when I can (although its hard to go with a 3 year old always in tow)
– We STILL haven’t narrowed down a name. Our picks are Alyssa, Ella, Breanna (or Brianna), Arianna & Clara
– Nesting mode will be kicking in very soon, I can feel it. We take possession of our new place July 13th, but with reno’s, we won’t be somewhat settled in the house until August
– The midwife couldn’t tell at my last appointment whether the baby was head down or not yet, but they’ll start looking closer at that as the weeks go by. They typically want them to be head down by 36 weeks.
– I’m measuring right where I should be, so she’s growing well
– I’ve gained 19 pounds so far, so I think I’ll end up gaining the same amount I did with Sienna…just over 30 lbs. I tend to gain the most in the second trimester versus the third…go figure!
– My blood pressure is still low which is great. I had some big issues with high blood pressure with Sienna, so fingers crossed I won’t have the same issue
– I’ve got that line down my belly. Not the most attractive thing in the world, but what do ya do! I had it with Sienna as well. Its called linea nigra.
Here’s what it looks like…
I also have a reader question to answer. On Facebook, Gina asked, “Do you have a prenatal vitamins that you prefer over all the rest?”
I do! With both pregnancies I’ve taken the SISU Multi Expecting. I may be a bit bias as I’ve worked for the company for the past 7 years, but even before I worked there, I took many of their vitamins. It is only available in Canada though, at various health food stores and places like Whole Foods, Planet Organic etc.
Why I like it:
– Its in a flavorless capsule, not a gross tasting tablet
– They use the non-constipating form of iron (iron citrate), so I haven’t had any issues with that the entire pregnancy (thank goodness!)
– I just take 2 capsules before bed, quick and easy
– The brand is very well tested, so overall, I trust the quality

I’m still in shock that it will only be a few more updates until this baby comes! I’ll probably mention this in the next few updates, but I won’t be posting to the blog when I go into labor, but I will be posting quick updates and pictures on my Facebook Page (health & fitness one), which also cross posts to my @KristineFretwel twitter account. So if you’d like the play-by-play, that’s where I’ll be posting it when the time arrives!
