Greetings all! Okay, so I’ve got a couple of updates for ya. First, the preggo update, and second, a bit about the blogging break I’ve been taking lately.
Ok, so seriously, I’m still in shock that I could potentially have a baby in my arms in the next couple of weeks! Pretty surreal! We cannot WAIT to meet her and I’m super curious if she’ll look like Sienna, or totally different. Of course, everything is also crossed that she’ll be healthy & happy.
35 Weeks
Some tidbits from this stage of the pregnancy:
– I’ve gained about 29 pounds so far. On track to the same I gained with Sienna, which was around 32 pounds. Had her at 37 weeks 3 days.
– Still no activity other than walking. Back/pelvis is killing me. Keeping up with massage therapy and wearing my support belt when running errands etc.
– Getting very uncomfortable now…feeling as big as a house!
– At my last midwife appointment, she said she’s head down, very low in my pelvis, and in perfect position. Hooray!
– Next appointment, I’m hoping to get “checked” to see if my cervix has thinned and if I’ve dilated at all. I’ll be close to 37 weeks at that point, and am still wondering whether I’ll be early like I was with Sienna
– Wishing I could nest. I’m just ITCHING to get the baby room ready, but with the reno’s happening (more on that below), I won’t be able to do that till next week
– We still don’t have a name. but we think we’ve narrowed it to 3: Clara, Alyssa & Brianna
Blogging Break
Some of you may have noticed that I haven’t been posting much as of lately. Summer has been busy! Also, with our new house reno’s in full effect, we’re living in very limited space and 95% of my kitchen things are packed away. So its not the easiest to make and photograph new recipes. With all my dishes being packed, we’re eating off Christmas-patterned paper plates! So glam!
We have a guest house separate from the main house, and so it has this small bachelor suite with a kitchen, bathroom and living room/bedroom open area. Here’s what it looks like from the outside…
The suite is on top, and there is a workshop on the bottom level.
Here’s my “current” kitchen… (note that our kitchen table is also our office! 😉 )
But thankfully, with it being summer, most of the time, we’re eating meals on our patio….
Its definitely convenient to have the guest house while reno’s are happening. We also have our trailor parked on the property and that’s where we’ve been sleeping.
But now, with the paint done, and flooring in, we’re going to be moving all our bedroom furniture in and should be able to sleep in the house in the next week.
The kitchen won’t be done for another week or two. Here’s the state its in now….no cabinets yet!
The kitchen, dining room and living room are all open to each other.
Birthday
We also celebrated Sienna’s 4th birthday last week. Did the kid party at the Zoo, and family party at my Dad’s house. Everything was all about Disney Princess. Cakes were Cinderella. She’s been excited about her birthday for months! So cute!
So yah, that’s been my life lately! As much as I feel guilty for neglecting the blog, the break has actually been really nice! Spending lots of time outside enjoying the gorgeous weather, not trapped inside, working on my laptop!
I’m sure once we’re setting in the house shortly, and I’m in my new kitchen, I’ll be inspired again to cook up plenty more new recipes. That is, in between juggling a 4 year old and a newborn!
Ta-ta for now!
