Favorite Find: Davids Tea

Before I get into the post, I just wanted to cover a couple of quick housekeeping items.

For those of you that may have subscribed to the old feed via RSS, you may have noticed that your reader will filled with 10+ new posts yesterday.  Sorry about that!  I just figured out how to switch everyone over to the new feed.  So it should be all fixed now!  Secondly, I (well actually my web guy), set up “Subscribe by Email”.  Now you have the option to subscribe to all my posts via email, so you never miss a recipe or post.  You’ll see the form at the bottom of this post.  Enter your email if  your interested.  p.s.  This is different from the monthly e-newsletter I send out.

Ok, now that the housekeeping is done, onto my Favorite Find!

If you follow along the Facebook Recipe Club, you’ll know that I often mention tea.  Its kind of an obsession. I love it because it tastes good, and prevents me from overeating and snacking, especially in the evening after dinner.

I must have been living in a cave, because I only discovered Davids Tea recently.

They have stores all across the US & Canada.  But I bought a bunch online as it was free shipping.  If you’ve ever been into a store, they are these cute little boutiques.  Very trendy looking inside, and all the staff are super helpful. Tons of samples, you can really have a hayday in there.

Their tea is different from regular old tea bags.  Its loose leaf tea, that you can put in one of those metal balls, or I got these little paper filters (more convenient).

As you can see, I don’t mess around when I find something new!

Here’s all the flavors I got:

Oh Canada
Buttercream
Carrot Cake
Mom’s Apple Pie
Buttered Rum
Caramel Spice
Pumpkin Chai
Forever Nuts
Copabanana

Out of these flavors, I’ll give you my Top 3:

1. Forever Nuts

Oh my gosh, I’m in LOVE with this tea, the smell is insanely good. I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it. Its almond-y, yet decadent, and honestly, I want to eat the stuff in the bag. Hard to describe the flavors, but this would be my top recommendation. It even turns pink when brewed! Fabulous.

2. Buttercream

The name speaks for itself.  Could be a bit stronger tasting, but the flavor is still there and I really like it!  Unfortunately, this tea is only available in the Fall Collection.  But I recommend getting it while you can, as the Pumpkin Chai and Copabanana are also in there and they are good too!

3. Oh Canada or Buttered Rum

I’m really on the fence with these two.  Very different, but both tasty.  I think it would depend on what I’m in the mood for.

Just because 4th place was so close to the 3rd choices, I’d say Pumpkin Chai. Not quite strong enough flavor, but smells divine!

Disappointments:

Carrot Cake – Being a HUGE carrot cake fan, I was hoping it tasted like it a little bit, but it didn’t. Bummer.

Mom’s Apple Pie – Didn’t have much apple flavor at all.  I have a couple other apple/cinnamon teas and they taste much more pie-like than this one.

Caramel Spice – its tastes more lemon-y versus caramel if that makes any sense.

So there you have it!  My review of Davids Tea!  As I try more flavors, I’ll let you know how they are.

Disclaimer: This is all my personal opinion.  I’m sure my tastebud will differ from others!

QUESTION! Have you tried Davids Tea? If so, what are your favorites or least favorites?
