Good Morning! Hope you’ve had a great week so far. Glad its Friday. I have a girls night tomorrow night, so it will be nice to see some of the gang. I’ve been friends with this group since I was 15 years old. We were all working at Pizza Hut (our first jobs) and we all remained friends ever since.
I thought it would be fun to post some pictures of a typical morning in the Fretwell house!
As soon as we roll out of the bed (typically woken up by Sienna around 7am to earlier), we make our way downstairs to the coffee machine (aka the Keurig)
Sienna stands on her stool and “makes” our coffee. She loves to help.
After we have our coffee made, Sienna gets her goats milk. I’ve given her goats milk versus cows milk since she was 1 year old. I chose goats milk as it has more vitamins & minerals, and goats are not treated with hormones and antibiotics as cows are. She loves it, and prefers it.
Sienna then goes to watch some cartoons on the couch.
Brent and I head to our office if he’s not driving to work that morning. Its actually our old dining room that we turned into an office….
3 laptops (we each have our own, and Brent one for work), a desktop monitor as Brent watches the stock market and likes to do the split-screen thing. As you can see some toys in the backround, its kind of a office/playroom. I work from home, so this is where I go to ‘work’ 🙂
In the distance, you can see MacGregor curled up on the couch for his morning nap…
As for Roxie, well typically she’s still sleeping in our bed upstairs! We call her the teenager. She doesn’t like to get out of bed before 9!
I had to lift up the covers to get this pic. As you can see, she wasn’t liking the flash!
For breakfast this morning, I’ve decided to switch up my oats for millet…
I’ve been getting bored of oatmeal, and this is my second favorite hot breakfast cereal. I don’t like quinoa for breakfast, I’m weird like that 😉 I find millet has a nice nutty flavor and is really delicious for breakfast.
So here’s breakfast – millet, with a tsp of low-sugar strawberry jam on top (and almond milk), and egg white scramble with spinach and goat cheese with a side of salsa. Yes, I eat it all!
After breakfast, I’ll typically try to get to the gym for a quick workout if Brent’s going to be home working. If not, then I’ll go to the gym later when Sienna’s at pre-school in the afternoon.
The rest of the morning is spent blogging, working, getting ready, playing with Sienna, cleaning, emptying the dishwasher, and getting Sienna all ready for preschool.
So there’s a typical morning 🙂
QUESTION! Is your morning routine always the same, or does it really vary day-to-day?
