Homemade Play Doh

Playing with play doh is a great rainy day activity. In Vancouver, we have a lot of rainy days.  Its so inexpensive to make your own compared to store bought, and I find the texture of this is identical, and it makes a lot. I’ve made no-cook versions and cooked versions like my mom used to make for us as kids. I actually prefer the cooked version, as I find its less sticky, lasts much longer, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated.

I have a lot of various food coloring on hand for when I make birthday cakes and cupcakes, so usually I’m going into my cake kit and grabbing one of my Wilton gel colors. Gel or regular food coloring works great. Heck, I’ve even seen people use kool-aid to dye the dough and make it smell good too. I decided with my 2 year old, the good smelling dough might not be the best option or else she’ll try and eat it!

Happy playing!
