Favorite Find: Veggie Straws

Happy Wednesday!  What a busy day its been! Carting the little one to preschool, chiropractor appointment, then midwife appointment, the errands. Phew!

Now I’m sitting down (finally!) and snacking on a delicious treat!

Have you tried them?  I must say, they are delish!  Now lets get things straight….I’m not claiming these are “uber healthy”.  Obviously snacking on a real carrot is better for you (duh!).  But compared to regular greasy potato chips, these would be a better choice.  Especially considering a portion is 68 straws, which is a good amount.

Since my sweet tooth is almost non-existent with this pregnancy, and I’ve been eating as healthy as someone who is pregnant can do, I enjoy having these on occasion.

The Stats:

Nutrition per 68 straws (50 grams)   Cals: 240  Fat: 13g  Carbs: 30g  Sugars: 0g  Fiber: 1g  Sodium: 520mg   Protein: 1g

Ingredients: potato flour, sunflower oil, corn starch, tomato puree, spinach powder, salt, sugar, tumeric. (May contain milk, soy & wheat)

Where to Buy?

I got them in the natural food section of my grocery store (Superstore), but I’ve also seen them at Costco.  I’m sure they are probably near you somewhere if you’re interesting in trying them. (Be careful, they’re addictive!).  Here’s the Store Locator on their site.

Happy Snacking!
