Hosting a Fabulous Bridal Shower

Happy Friday!  Well this isn’t a typical “Flashback Friday” post, but I thought it would be fun anyway!  Those that know me know that I love to host parties.  Its so nice to get people together and mingle!  Even though a couple days before, I am stressed trying to get it all done, when the day comes, and people enjoy themselves, I know its all worth it!

My brother is going to be getting married next weekend!  Brent and I are in the wedding party. So of course, with me liking parties, I offered to host the bridal shower!  The toughest part about planning a party is deciding on a theme.  I wanted it to be elegant, and I also wanted to reflect the same colors of the wedding.

Here was a photo I found for inspiration (Martha, of course!)

I love how this looks so classic and elegant!

I also vowed to do the cake myself.  I was really scared about this one.  I wanted to attempt fondant, but I had never done it before.

Here was a photo I used for inspiration when thinking about the cake…

I hosted his party last weekend.  So here are a few pictures of how it turned out!

You’ll see I did it opposite.  When the cake was done, I didn’t really have the patience to do the fondant bow, so I improvised!

As for the table decor, I wanted to stick with their wedding colors, but still do the same idea as the Martha Stewart photo….

So it was a white tablecloth, silver overlay and red table runners. I also used these cute white tissue paper flowers that hung from the ceiling (with fishing line).  Those were from Michaels (Martha Stewart Collection).

I also added flower accents.  Super easy to make.  Vase is from Michaels, then some fresh roses from Costco!

The food, I kept simple.  Finger food, no cutlery required!

The Menu:

Appies

Turkey Bacon/Date Wraps
Chicken & Beef Sliders
Elegant Artichoke Cups
Veggies/Dip
Asparagus Wraps
Mexican Rollups
Baby Tomato Boccochini Cheese Skewars w/Balsamic Drizzle

Drinks

Non-Alcoholic Fruit Punch
Red Raspberry Martini’s
Decaf Coffee

Dessert

Chocolate Cake
Chocolate Covered Strawberries

So it was very fun, to say the least!

QUESTION!  Do you like hosting parties?
