Greetings all! Happy Friday. I’m so looking forward to the weekend. We don’t have much going on, so I’m hoping to test a few recipes as I’m getting behind. I must say having food aversions makes it tough to cook as often as I normally do. My sweet tooth is “almost” gone, and meat still isn’t very appetizing. Chicken and shrimp are pretty much the only ‘meats’ I’ll eat.
Anyhow, as a pregnancy update, things are going pretty good. I’m 17 weeks today….
I’ve said it once, but second time around, the belly definitely comes in sooner! Ladies with more than 1 baby….did you find the same??
The sickness is wearing off a lot. A little nausea is still there, so I’m taking 1 diclectin before bed. I tried to go off it about a week ago, and felt very sick the next day, so its obviously not time yet. The baby is rocking and rolling in there. Still can’t believe I felt movement at 14 weeks! Its not as frequent yet, sometimes I feel something every other day. I usually only feel it when its a flip.
Just as predicted when I was pregnant with Sienna, as soon as the 2nd trimester started, the back pain begun. While we were on vacation, I put my back out….twice. As soon as I got home, I went to my Chiropractor. I’ve been going to the same one for years now. He looked at my history after assessing me, and said the same thing is happening. My left hip is rotating forward out of alignment, so that is the cause of the pain. Since its happening again, he thinks there must be pre-existing condition that’s aggravated by being pregnant. I hurt my back pretty badly wakeboarding years ago, so that probably is the cause. Since the belly starts to grow more in the 2nd trimester, the weight shift changes and throws me out of alignment.
I’m pretty bummed out, since I had wanted to get back into an exercise routine, since I rarely went to the gym in the 1st trimester as I was so sick. But he recommends just walking and swimming. Nothing impact, and no weights. So, I’m trying to eat as healthy as I can to keep my weight under control. I’m still going to get out walking as much as I can. I’m not really a “pool” person, so not sure how often I’ll get around to swimming.
Next up is finding out what Baby Fretwell is! My BIG ultrasound is on April 20th.
I have a strong feeling that its a boy, and the Chinese Gender Calculator also agrees. It would be great to have one of each, but of course, all we want is a happy, healthy baby, no matter what it is. 🙂
We’ve been hashing out baby names, and here are some of our picks!
Beckham is the front-runner for the boys, but as for the girls, not sure what our favorite is. I like Viviana (would be Viv) for short. Brent likes Isabella (Izzy for short), but I always picture girls with dark features having that name, and we are both fair. He also likes Tessa (Tess for short). We both tend to like names that aren’t super common. As you can tell with the girls, we also like names that end in “a”.
To celebrate finding out what the baby is, we’re doing a Gender Reveal Party. We’re hosting it at a local restaurant. We’ll be filming the entire event, so you all can watch the video and pretend you’re there too! Let just hope the baby cooperates a couple days earlier at the ultrasound!
Not sure if I’m forgetting anything (preggo brain!), but if there’s anything you want to know about the preggo stuff, leave a comment below and I’ll be sure to respond!
