Shopping Spree

Hey everyone! Hope you had a fabulous weekend.  I sure did!  I got a night off from being a Mommy and drove down to Seattle with a few girlfriends!  Shopping, spa, dinner out….does it get much better than that?  With the Canadian dollar being pretty on par with the American dollar, there are definitely some deals to be had at the outlets.

One thing I always seem to find is shoes. 😉 But let me tell ya, oh how things have changed since the days I was buying 5 inch heels.

I bought all flats!  These two were from Nine West.  Buy one, get the second half off!

These Puma’s from Nordstrom Rack (they are SUPER comfy!)

I was also on the lookout for a purse, and I wanted one with more compartments, and not a “big black hole” as I like to call it.

So I ended up picking this one up at the Coach outlet and after all the discounts, it was $160

Great for summer, and with it being patent leather, it will wipe clean (which will be great for the spit-up I’ll be cleaning off of it soon!)

I also got hubby a new pair of Nike’s and some tights and hair clips for the girls.

So after some shopping, relaxation at the spa, and dinner at a restaurant called Purple, we were all beat, and headed back to the hotel to get some zzz’s.

The next morning, we grabbed some Starbucks breakfast, did a bit more shopping in Seattle, then headed back towards home.  But we weren’t done yet….we had one more stop that I was really excited about….Trader Joe’s!

I’ve never been there before (I know, I’m in the dark ages).  But I was pleased to find out its very close to the main highway, and easy to access.

I took all your advice from the Recipe Club, and started browsing the aisles.  Here’s what I came home with….

Brown rice tortillas, dried green beans, dried cherries, trail mix (peanut butter cup…OMG!), dried mango (unsweetened), papaya salsa, garlic olive oil, roasted garlic hummus, aoili garlic mustard sauce, organic free range eggs, sliced goat cheese.

I must say, eggs are WAY cheaper than what I can get here.  I never get organic free range below $5.99 here and they were $3.69 there.  The dried fruit was also cheaper than I’m used to, and the cheese is a lot cheaper as well.  I’ve never actually seen sliced goat cheese like this so that’s why I got it.

Also, the Trader Joe’s lunch meat (no nitrates, antibiotics, msg and chickens are fed a vegetarian diet.  Love that!), handmade corn tortillas, coconut oil (great price!), maple sugar.

Not pictured: frozen 4 pack of turkey burgers

I was super happy with everything I got!  Once we’re settled in our new house, I’d also like to go back to get their organic chicken breasts.  The price is much cheaper than here.

QUESTION! Have you gotten any of these Trader Joe’s items?  What are your favorites?
