Hello All!!
Time for another Flashback Friday! This week hasn’t gone by as fast as most, probably because Brent has been gone hunting since last Thursday, so I’ve been solo. Not only that, but Sienna was sick Sunday night with a fever, so she was up 5 times that night. Made me remember what having a newborn was like! So, I was tired for the next couple nights to say the least. Then yesterday (Thursday) I think I got the same 24 hour fever! Temp was 101, plus body aches and chills. This morning I’m doing better though, thank goodness! Brent gets back tonight…yay!!!!
So I haven’t posted an old picture in a while, so I thought it would be fun to do one of those again….
In the last one, you saw what I looked like with dark hair!! But today, this one is even OLDER. Circa 1994 (Grade 10)!!! haha
Food this Week:
There were some new recipes I gave a try this week, I gave April’s High Protein Pumpkin Bread a go…
It was not bad! Definitely high protein, basically a different way to have eggs. Consistency was like a quiche, but it did the trick and was filling! I split it up over a few days. I do want to give her Pumpkin Bread a try this weekend!
I was doing some recipe testing last weekend, because with Brent gone, we didn’t have much on the go. So I made a Banana Nut Protein Bar (recipe not posted yet)
I also made some DATE SQUARES. There is a story behind these. My mom used to make this treat called Matrimony Cake (which is basically a date square). For some reason, I had been thinking about them for a while. I found the recipe and figured out a few ways to lighten it up, as the original has A LOT of butter and sugar. It turned out GOOD! Too good…haha. I ate more of them then I should have!!!
I also whipped up a batch of BLACK BEAN BROWNIES, but without the chocolate drizzle on top. I still have a bunch of those in the fridge.
Along with my egg white omelet last weekend, I decided to have a treat and add a few ‘extra’s to my steel cut oatmeal…..walnuts, craisins & dark choco chips! hehe
Some other things I had (not pictured) were cereal coated chicken strips (baked). Homemade Vegetarian Chili, Salads, Carrot Slaw. I also have a whack load of tomatoes and cilantro to make some fresh salsa. I think I’ll do that today. I also need to thaw some chicken breasts to cook up and have those for the week.
Doggie Pic of the Week:
I have the CUTEST Flashback Friday pic. This was Roxie at 8 weeks old…just before we got her. Don’t you just want to snuggle her cute little wrinkled face?!
Sienna’s Pic of the Week:
This was her on our recent trip to the Pumpkin Patch! It was HARD to get a still picture, she was running around, moving pumpkins, giddy at the sight of the animals at the Petting Zoo, especially the goats.
Workouts:
Here’s what I did all this past week:
Monday: Workout at home. 30 minutes on treadmill (sprints & steady state), work on the heavy bag–50 push kicks, 50 side kicks per leg, punching combos. It was good!!
Tuesday: Session with my trainer. We did 10 sets of 1 minute intervals in a row! Various exercises. Burpee’s, treadmill, bike, squat presses, step ups, etc!!
Wednesday: Workout at home. I did Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown. I liked it! Its similar to the P90X Yoga, but runs for only 30 minutes. The P90X is 1 hr 45 min….I rarely have that much time!
Thursday: Gym. Sienna was a daycare so I managed to get to the gym. Did 45 minutes on the eliptical, plus abs. 3 sets of 20 leg raises and crunches on the ball.
Friday (today): I may try another Yoga DVD. Nothing too crazy, still feeling a bit under the weather.
Saturday/Sunday: OFF—Brent is home….yay!!!
So that about sums up my week! Next week we’ll be busy getting ready for Halloween! We have all the decorations up, so I’ll take a picture of those!
What are you up to this weekend?
