Favorite Find: Barney Butter

Woah nelly!  What a busy day its been.  Lots of work to catch up on since being back, and Sienna has had a bit of a tummy bug since we’ve been back.  So its been constant trips to the bathroom the last two days (TMI, I know! 😉 )

Today’s “Favorite Find” was yet another product I sampled for the first time at the Expo West in Anaheim.  It was at the very end of our day there, and I was at the far end of the show.  My feet and back were killing me, but I spotted the Barney Butter booth from a distance, so I had to re-route and pass by.

Many bloggers seem to rave about it, so I had to give it a try! I must say, I was impressed.  It was the smoothest almond butter I’ve ever had.  I typically buy the Mara Natha Almond Butter that I’ve talked about here.

Given, it is a bit different from other Almond Butters, as it has a bit of sweetener and salt added.

Ingredients: Almonds, Evaporated Cane Juice, Palm Fruit Oil (not to be confused with Palm Kernel Oil), Sea Salt.

But per Tablespoon, it doesn’t equate to much…..

and like I said…the texture is soooo smooth, kinda like the “junky” peanut butter as I call them!  Very tasty!  Growing up I was only allowed Adam’s Natural Peanut Butter with separated so badly!  You could barely stir it! Oh boy, how natural nut butters have come a long way!

So if you’re looking to switch your family over to a more natural nut butter without all the hydrogenated oils, Barney Butter would be a great pick!

I also like how they have these “Squeeze Packs”.  Perfect from travel or on the go!

Where to Find?

Unfortunately, I’ve yet to see them in Canada, but next time I’m in the US, I’ll grab some at Whole Foods. If you’re in the US, go to the Barney Butter site and enter your Zip Code to find the nearest location that carries it. Or, you can order online through their site.  If you like, you can also follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

QUESTION OF THE DAY! Have you every tried Barney Butter?  What is your go-to nut butter brand?

See you tomorrow for another recipe 🙂
