Happy Wednesday! This post is getting out a bit late….its been a busy day and I just HAD to plop on the couch for a bit tonight and watch a Christmas movie (Four Christmases, with Reese Withersoon & Vince Vaugh, pretty funny!) but I wanted to post this favorite of mine cause its GREAT to incorporate into a healthy eating plan….
Ok, so I admit, I like to snack. Thankfully, I now snack smarter than I used to, so when I have a cracker, its a minimally processed one. I also love my rice cakes (Plum n Good) as you may recall from a previous post. If I do have a cracker or rice cake, I also make sure to have some protein with it, so some sort of protein shake concoction or protein on the cracker like chicken, cucumber, hummus, etc. Many of you may have seen these in grocery stores, or may already have them in your cupboard. Here they are….the WASA CRACKER!
They have many different varieties, but this is my favorite because it contains 3 ingredients. Rye, water & salt. Some of them have wheat (just doesn’t agree with my stomach), or extra fibre or 7 grain or sourdough. I have tried numerous ones, but the light rye is the lowest cal, lightest and most like a cracker.
What’s even more interesting is that the Wasa people actually have a bunch of great topping ideas on their website. Check it out! It really is a great alternative to bread…and with no bloating involved!
Since I am a NERD for factoids, I also saw this that I thought was interesting on their site:

ABOUT WASA FLATBREAD
Wasa is the world’s largest producer of flatbread. The Swedes eat more flatbread than any other people in the world, almost 4 kilograms per capita. Wasa’s largest markets outside Sweden are the other Scandinavian countries and Germany, closely followed by Poland, the Netherlands, France and the U.S. However, flatbread as a category exists almost everywhere.

So I guess the Swedes like their flatbreads!!
Question: Do you eat Wasa’s??? If so, what do you put on yours?
Hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I’ll talk to you on Friday!
