Flashback Friday: Detox & Halloween

Yet another Friday!  This week has been great.  Brent got back from hunting, so back into the regular routine.  So in celebration of Halloween, I have a cute little Flashback Friday pic.

Flashback: Halloween 2008 

Wonder Woman & Captain America!  Sienna was not even 3 months old.  You can see her carseat in the background! (I still have the last 10 lbs to lose here!) I started working out diligently shortly after this picture.  Didn’t want to go intense while breastfeeding.

But of course, as new parents, we had to dress her up too.  As a little Super Girl!

We couldn’t leave out the dogs, and we thought it would be fitting if they were part of Super Hero theme.  I introduce: Bat Girl & Joker.

So as you can see, we LOVE Halloween!  Next Friday I will have pictures of our costumes THIS year 😉

Food this week:

On Monday we were talking and both of us were saying that we’ve been feeling sluggish lately. So we decided to do a detox for 12 days.  It is NOT a fast, its just eating extra clean, and we’re using a kit with supplements which help your body detox naturally.  This is the kit we’re using…..WILD ROSE DETOX

So, needless to say, no new recipe tests this week, as I’m sticking to whole food only.  Plain meats, certain fruits and veggies.  I did make a batch of my Yummy Turkey Meatloaf, but without the ketchup added (as shown).

I’ve also been making squash….here enters Kabocha…sprinkled with cinnamon.

This weekend, when we open up the pumpkins, I’m going to roast some seeds….yum yum!  So that’s about it for food this past week.

Sienna’s Picture of the Week:

My big girl 🙁  We got rid of the high chair this week and swapped for a booster seat at the table.  She LOVES it!!!  I was sooo sad to put away the highchair!  I don’t have baby-fever at all…yeah right!!  As you can see MacGregor is never too far away in case something “happens” to drop!

Workouts this week:

Sunday – @ Gym, 45 minutes on Stairmaster, Abs (3 sets of hanging leg raises, weighted twists, ball crunches)

Monday – Workout at home gym.  Brent and I did an interval workout: 1 minute work, 20 second rest.  This was the circuit, we did it 3 time around, followed by some ab work:

1) Treadmill Sprint

2) Lunge with bicep curl

3) Plie squats with side laterals

4) Pushups with bosu

5) Sidekicks on heavy bag (left leg)

6) Side kicks on heavy bag (right leg)

7) Push kicks on heavy bag

8) Punching combo on heavy bag

Tuesday: @ Gym – 40 minutes on Eliptical & Shoulder Workout (heavy side laterals, plate raises, shoulder press)

Wednesday: OFF.  Was feeling flu-like from detox anyway

Thursday: Workout with trainer.  Intervals

Friday: I think I’ll do some Yoga today…need a good stretch.

Saturday/Sunday: Another circuit training workout with Brent at home

So that about sums up the week!  Have a HAPPY & SAFE HALLOWEEN!!!! We’re on Detox Day 4, so no candy for us!!
