Healthy Fudgesicles and Hotel Snacks

Happy Friday!!! Although for me this weekend, doesn’t mean I have the next 2 days off.  Its 6:55am and I’m literally sitting in my hotel room in downtown Vancouver!  I’m here until Sunday attending one of the largest health trade shows in the country!  Since I’m with a supplement company, I’m going to be at our booth all weekend.

I don’t have a long post for you today. I was so caught up getting ready for this weekend and packing etc, that I took almost no food pictures.  On the workout side, Did some legs Monday, Tuesday off, Wednesday bootcamp (full body w/weights) and Thursday spinning.  I’m NOT planning on working out at the hotel.  I’m going to be on my feet all weekend and also walking from the hotel to the convention center numerous times a day.  I recently starting doing some running on the treadmill combined with jump rope.  Last Sunday, my knee began hurting.  I’ve felt the pain before, as it would start creeping up when I was prepping for fitness competitions.  I’m pretty sure its due to running.  I think I’ll have to stop it all together.  A bit disappointing, as running works for my body.  It helps me lose fat on my lower body.  I’m not huge into steady-state cardio, but I do think the combo of both interval and steady state is effective.  But of course, if pain is ever involved, its time to move on to something else.  I’m not interested in pushing further and actually doing damage!

I made some Healthy Popsicles for Sienna this week.  I have a hard time giving her protein.  She hates meat and cheese, she’ll only eat yogurt.  So I make up these protein popsicles that are sugar free and she’s none the wiser!  She thinks they are a fudgesicle!!

Yum, I like these!

This was literally after 5 minutes

Healthy Fudgesicles

1.5 scoops chocolate whey protein powder (sweetened with stevia)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water
1 heaping Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 packets stevia (I used Krisda stevia packets)
3-4 ice cubes

(I didn’t add fruit this time, but you could add banana, strawberries, raspberries)

Blend all together in a magic bullet or blender and pour into popsicle molds (mine holds 8).  Freeze and enjoy!

HOTEL SNACKS

So I came well prepared to the hotel with plenty of snacks for the weekend.  Here’s what I brought in my food bag.

Walnuts
Almonds
Cocoa Roast Almonds
Lemon Poppyseed and Yam/Walnut Muffins
4 Pink Lady Apples
4 Fit Stars IsoBars (my favorite protein bars)
Krisda Cafe packets (for coffee)
3 1 Litre bottles of Smart Water
Rice cakes
Peanut Butter Protein Cookies
Protein Powder

I have a fridge in my room, so thankfully I can keep my apples and water cold. For breakfast, there is a Starbucks and Tim Hortons next door, so I’ll get their oatmeal and stir in a scoop of protein powder and top with a couple nuts!  For snacks I can have what I brought, lunch chicken salad from the food court, and dinners I have events at restaurants both nights.

Gotta run.  Time to get ready for the day!

QUESTION!  Have you even been to a health, fitness or wellness expo?

Hope you all enjoy your weekend!
