My Holiday Party Menu

So here it is, my holiday party menu!  Hopefully it can give you some ideas for your own parties 🙂  As I mentioned, everything isn’t ultra healthy, but its all about moderation, right?!  When I entertain, its casual.  I like it that way.  I also do things that are make-ahead, and quick and easy.

HOT ITEMS:

Turkey Meatballs (Crock Pot) *not the healthiest. Mix 1 jar of chili sauce with 1 can of cranberry sauce. Use homemade or frozen store-bought turkey meatballs
Spinach/Artichoke Dip (Crock Pot) served with baguette, tortilla chips
Buffalo Chicken Stuffed Mushrooms
Pulled Beef Sliders
Chicken Skewers * thread raw chicken breast pieces onto skewers, broil in oven and serve with a couple of dipping sauces like peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce

COOL (room temp) ITEMS:

Tortellini Skewers *cook fresh tortellini pasta according to package. Drain.  Mix with balsamic vinegar, olive oil, baby tomatoes, garlic, dried oregano and basil. Store in fridge overnight to marinate.  Next day, thread onto skewers.
Mexican Rollups
Veggies & Dip
Crackers/Cheese/Meat

DESSERT:

Healthy Ginger Snaps
Fudge
Peanut Butter Balls
Fruit Plate & Pumpkin Dip (low fat cool whip mixed with canned pumpkin, dash of cinnamon)

MARTINI’S

Gin & Vodka

Bond, James Bond – still working on this recipe
Goldfinger  –
Pussy Galore – vodka, low calorie cranberry juice, splash of grapefruit juice and soda
Eggnog Martini’s – I *might* try these, but sub milk for almond milk and use only 1/4 cup sugar and the rest stevia

Dirty Martini

  • 2 oz. gin
  • 1 Tbs dry vermouth
  • 2 Tbs olive juice
  • 2 olives

Pour gin, vermouth and olive juice into a cocktail shaker. Add olives. Shake or stir, depending on your preference. Strain contents into a well-chilled martini glass and garnish with one of the olives.

BAR GARNISH

Lemon Wedges
Stuffed Olives
Cocktail Onions
